When a headstrong pornographer has her latest work rejected by a stuffy, low-level censor, she demands his help in sharing her art with the world. Their debates quickly reveal perversities and spiral into a sensual dance of ego, fantasy, and delusion, leaving each simultaneously more broken and more whole. The Censor is a darkly comic commentary on repression, where sex is clinical and the least complicated part of the story.
Because this piece deals with the censorship of the arts, we partnered with and donated a portion of proceeds to PEN America, whose mission is to "unite writers and their allies to celebrate creative expression and defense the liberties that make it possible."

Following the First World War, Dear Brutus finds a group of wastrels and aristocrats haunted by roads not taken and lives not lived. Missed opportunities are seized in the form of languorous, directionless, celebration meant to combat the pervasive melancholy of a dubious future and the horrors of battle. But one night, our group gets more than they bargained for when, thanks to a magic wood, they receive the second chances they yearn for. But, the grass isn’t always greener.

As our company prides itself on diversifying stories, experiences, and characters onstage, we took it upon ourselves to modernize this early 20th century piece with some unconventional casting and direction in order to shed light on current topics that interest us, including:
Classicism, Ageism, Mental Health, Gender Roles, and LGBTQ Relationships.

In December 2018, we received rave reviews after a nearly sold out run of Ruby Rae Spiegel's Dry Land at Shetler Studio's "The Bridge" in NYC.

The somber, yet hilarious play explores themes of abortion, addiction, eating disorders, and self-harm.
As we find ourselves in a time that is consistently degrading and devaluing female stories, sexuality, and bodily autonomy, we chose this play to spark conversation and change when it comes to these powerful, and often unapproachable topics.

Because we believe so strongly in reproductive rights and affordable and reliable health care, some proceeds were donated to Planned Parenthood NY.
